
The Direct Sellers Association of Canada (DSA Canada) announced the awarding of $20,000 in scholarships to five outstanding Canadian university students.
The annual DSA Canada Scholarship Program supports the educational aspirations of students who are connected to the direct selling industry. This years recipients are pursuing degrees in a range of fields, including business administration, political science and law, reflecting the diverse interests and ambitions of the next generation of Canadian leaders.
Through this scholarship program, DSA Canada is pleased to recognize and invest in talented students, while celebrating the important connections between education, entrepreneurship and the direct selling community.
2026’s Distinguished Scholarship Recipients:
- Kaleb Boates, St. Francis Xavier University, studying for a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. His mother’s experience with Mary Kay inspired Kaleb to pursue business, embrace setbacks with determination, and lead initiatives that have made a meaningful impact in his community.
- Claire Murrell, McGill University, is studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Her mother’s successful career with Juice Plus has shown Claire that the flexibility to take on different roles and realize multiple objectives can be a valuable consideration in career and life.
- Clarice Mah, Capilano University, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration. Clarice’s experience with Cutco/Vector Marketing has helped her develop patience, time management, confidence and leadership skills, which have shaped her into someone who sets big goals and follows through on commitments.
- Jamie Petersson, University of Calgary, pursuing her PHD in Medical Sciences. Her mother’s career with Juice Plus has helped develop Jamie’s own approach to academics and life, teaching her the value of authentic connections, collaboration, communication, and meaningful community impact.
- Shayla Herman, University of Saskatchewan, College of Law. Shayla’s experience with Cutco/Vector Marketing has instilled lasting values of entrepreneurship, hard work, service, and relationship-building, which continue to shape her goal of using a career in law to make a meaningful difference in her community.
Peter Maddox, President of DSA Canada, commented on the significance of the awards: “These scholarships reflect our commitment to the next generation of leaders, who demonstrate dedication to their academic pursuits and embody the principles of entrepreneurship and community service taught through direct selling.”
The Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF), supported by DSA Canada, plays a crucial role in this initiative. Since the program began in 2012, the DSEF has awarded over $180,000 in academic grants to deserving post-secondary students throughout Canada.
The scholarship program will continue to support students in 2027, with applications opening in March of next year. Eligibility extends to post-secondary students who are connected to the direct selling industry through family ties or personal involvement.
