Canada Direct Selling Association reported it had released preliminary 2021 sales and industry data at its “Rise Up” Conference.
The foundings were independently audited by Nathan Associates. Nathan Associates is a third-party international economic consulting firm. The data demonstrated that the Canadian direct selling industry is showing incremental growth as compared to 2020, which was a phenomenal year for direct selling.
In 2021, some topline numbers included:
- Retail sales grew 1.3% over the previous year to $4.199 billion.
- The number of Canadians signed up as independent sales consultants declined slightly by 1.1% from 1.39 million to 1.37 million.
- The percentage of the independent sales force in Canada who are women declined by 1%, to 83% overall.
- Preferred customers rose by 88% over the previous year, to 450,000, and made up 17.4% of total retail sales.
DSA Canada said the full report would be made available to DSA Canada members.
