15 years ago, committed employees and the management of LR Health & Beauty founded the LR Global Kids Fund eV with the clear goal of helping socially disadvantaged children and offering them a better chance for a self-determined life.
The association’s work, especially the support of global cooperation projects, is more important today than ever before, because the future of children is still in danger in the face of increasing violence, poverty and experiences of displacement.
Community engagement as the key to success
The success of the association is based on the joint commitment of the LR Group, its employees and its sales partners and customers. The association now supports around 20 permanent projects worldwide every year. The most important milestones in the history of the association include the cooperation with the Ahlen children’s facility “Lunch Club”, the introduction of the sponsoring membership, the start of the volunteer program “LR Hands On” and the beginning of the cooperation with “SOS Children’s Villages Worldwide”.
“We are very proud of what we have been able to achieve over the last 15 years thanks to our numerous supporters. The need for donations to support children’s aid projects remains high and support funds will also be needed in the future,” emphasizes Kirsten Ueckmann, Chairwoman of the LRGKF Board. “It is therefore important to us to continue our social commitment in the future. We are building on our previous strong commitment and continue to hope for the active support of our loyal LRGKF donors, who have made the above-mentioned successes possible.”
Donations and funding projects
Since 2009, the association has received almost six million euros in donations. The developments in recent years are particularly encouraging: Since 2020, the LRGKF has managed to generate annual income of half a million euros. In Germany, the association supports the Lunch Club eV locally in Ahlen (funding amount in 2023: 200,000 euros). Worldwide, a total of 21 projects in 20 different countries were supported last year (see Annual Report 2023 ).
Anniversary campaign “I do NOTHING*…”
With the anniversary campaign “I don’t do anything…” for its 15th birthday, the association wants to attract more attention and, with a wink, focus on its own commitment. The riddle is then immediately solved: “I don’t do anything… There’s nothing nicer than giving children a smile!” – this and other slogans adorn the T-shirts of the campaign protagonists. “Numerous loyal supporters of our association were happy to give the campaign a face. With this special effort, we will certainly succeed in attracting even more attention,” says Ueckmann happily.
